Antony Law
Antony Law is a 5th generation Christian, as his great-great-grandpa was an early Chinese church pastor. He grew up in a Christian family and accepted Jesus Christ through the Jesus film when he was 11. In his late 20’s, he came with his wife from Hong Kong to study at Regent College & afterward became the Missions Pastor of a Vancouver church. After almost 20 years of pastoral ministry at the same church, he left as their Senior Pastor & has served 2 years as the Executive Director of a gospel and missions training center. Antony is now the Regional Director of OMF, focusing on the diaspora ministry.
Mike Schuster
Mike Schuster is a passionate speaker, worship leader, and educator who has served over 100 churches across Canada leading worship, conducting worship team workshops, preaching Biblical messages, and presenting the life-changing work of Compassion Canada. Mike has a Bachelor of Education (Music), a Master's degree in Leadership & Training, and experience as a full-time Pastor of Worship & Arts. He has released 3 albums of original worship songs and has 30 years of experience leading worship in a variety of settings. Donnett Thompson Hall
Donnett Thompson-Hall is a wife and mother of three. She is a ministry leader, an International Gospel Recording Artist, and a supervisor in her secular career. Donnett serves with love, compassion and integrity while spreading the uncompromised message that Jesus Christ is Lord of all. Being introduced to the work of Compassion Canada and having gained an understanding of our mission to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name captured her heart. She knew she had a platform through which she was able to spread and promote the work of Compassion to see children sponsored. Her heart was convicted by the Holy Spirit to be of service to this extraordinary cause.
Rob Parkman
Rob Parkman has inspired audiences across Canada and around the world. He is a speaker, author and leadership coach who desires to see people discover God’s destiny for them in a healthy and effective way. His deep desire is that local churches impact their communities and the world.
Camille Parkman
Camille Parkman is a 4-time nominated Covenant Award singer/songwriter and worship leader. As a folk-rock Gospel artist, Calmille is passionate about worshipping Jesus through music and everyday life and leading others into His presence through her songs.
Dave Siverns
Dave is a singer/songwriter, worship leader and Christ follower who has a heart for the church and the intersection of faith and art. Dave has roots all over the great country of Canada: being born in Hamilton, ON, completing an undergrad in Caronport, SK, pastoring in Lethbridge, AB for seven years, completing a Masters in Arts and Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, BC, and has had the privilege of touring from coast to coast. He’s currently living in Hamilton where he serves as Executive Pastor at Compass Point Bible Church.
Randy Carter
Randy Carter is a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. He laughs loudly, feels deeply and loves people. Randy has been involved in youth ministry since 1979 and he believes youth ministry is the most important ministry in the church. Randy regularly says, “I don’t know why anyone would choose to work with big people when they could work with students!” Randy’s not afraid to share authentically and is frequently sought out as speaker, mentor and youth ministry specialist. Randy and his wife Donna are passionate about the ministry of Compassion Canada. They sponsor four Compassion kids and have spoken as advocates for Compassion for over 20 years.
Phil Callaway
Phil is a speaker, the bestselling author of 30 books, a husband of one and the daddy of three. His radio show: Laugh Again, airs on close to 400 radio stations in North America, as well as the UK, Africa, and the Caribbean. His humorous stories on family life have been featured in hundreds of magazines. Still, he insists his greatest achievement was convincing his Ramona to marry him. "I am passionate about Compassion," says Phil, "because it is Jesus-centered and rooted firmly in local churches. It has a grand history of integrity, our children are sponsors, and I have seen children's lives changed dramatically for good."
Chelsea Amber
Canadian Christian recording artist Chelsea Amber brings her pop/soul sound to life with passionate and powerful vocals, uplifting lyrics, and soulful guitars. Since 2007, she has released 4 albums and 2 EP's which were recognized with a total of 21 music awards and a 2015 Juno nomination. Chelsea is delighted to partner with Compassion Canada as an organization that is "Christ-centered, child-focused and church-based." It is a practical way for her to put hands and feet to the message of hope that she sings about on the stage and in the studio. She says on her website, "It is pure joy to see people sponsor children at my concerts."
Brooke Nicholls
Brooke Nicholls is a Worship Leader and Songwriter from Toronto, ON, where she serves as a Worship Leader at Sanctus Church. When she's not at her home Church, she's leading worship at different Churches and Ministries across Canada and beyond. Brooke has been named the Female Vocalist of the Year for the last three years at the Canadian Gospel Music Awards, and her album, ‘Pursue’, was nominated for a 2020 Juno Award. Brooke is a proud advocate for Compassion and loves the way that they use the local church to fulfill their mission of lifting children out of poverty.
Jacob Moon
Jacob Moon is known for his giftedness as a singer and is a songwriter of award-winning pop and folk songs. He is also a master of the art of ‘live looping’, a performance style where he records what he’s playing in real time and layers sound on sound to make one guitar sound like an orchestra. He's been performing and presenting Compassion for over 20 years and has just released his 12th album. Jacob and his wife Allison live in Hamilton, Ontario, with their three adopted children.
John Voort
John Voort has loved Compassion’s ministry from the first moment he witnessed it in Kenya in 2002. When he returned home from that trip, he became a very passionate volunteer until 2010, at which time he was hired as Compassion’s Southern AB rep. He has recently retired and has come full circle, once again joining the volunteer team but also joining the Ambassador team. His passion will always be serving Compassion’s children in Jesus’ name!
Will Walker
Will Walker is a gifted as a singer, songwriter and worship leader with a deep love for the local church, as well as having a heart for adoption and fostering. Formerly an Associate Pastor for 10 years, Will began writing songs for the church and Christian radio with a desire to help spread the message of hope through the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is evident through his radio songs as well as his latest worship album, Shoulders, with a focus on God’s heart for social justice and the poor. Will and his wife Melanie currently live near Kingston, Ontario where they home-school their two adopted children on a small homestead.
Leland Klassen
Leland Klassen’s comedy has been described as hilarious storytelling, quirky physical charm and a high-spirited, high-energy show. Having toured all across North America for over two decades, Leland’s credits include Just For Laughs, Winnipeg and Halifax Comedy Festivals, hosting the nationally syndicated series Popcorn TV; and Bananas, Thou Shalt Laugh (Netflix) and DRY BAR COMEDY in the US. Leland has recently turned his attention to acting with leading roles in EXTRAORDINARY and SLEEPER AGENT. Leland loves using the stage to let people know about Compassion and the work they do in the lives of children throughout the world.
Tim Hague
Tim Hague Sr. overcame the odds when he went from a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease to winning season #1 of The Amazing Race Canada. Now, as an internationally sought after speaker, he is an ambassador on behalf of children living in poverty. Tim is no stranger to personal challenge as he experienced childhood as a biracial orphan. His story should have been one of failure, but because of God he tells a story of rescue and blessing. His is a story of compassion reaching into despair and offering the hope of a better life. Tim’s message will leave you inspired to make a difference in the lives of others, to set them free from poverty in Jesus’ name.
Jay Calder
Jay Calder was a senior pastor and worship leader for nine years. He received “Best Acoustic Artist” at the Toronto Independent Music Awards and was invited (three times) to be a featured performer at the Canadian Guitar Festival. He has performed with Phil Keaggy, Steve Bell and toured with Casting Crowns, the Newsboys, Avalon and Natalie Grant. “I support Compassion’s ministry because of what God is doing through them. Compassion’s model in the field, of only working through the local church, means that these children receive physical care, supplemental nutrition, skills and job training, medical care, and play, but also discipleship as followers of Christ.”
Donna Carter
Donna Carter is sought after as a speaker because she is known to be real, relational and relevant. She is the bestselling author of three books which are distributed internationally. Together with her daughter Kevann, she hosts the weekly radio show and podcast, Grow on the Go, on Joy Radio in the GTA. Donna and her husband Randy enjoy sharing their lives and the stage at marriage conferences and other speaking engagements. A passionate evangelist, Donna sees her ambassadorship with Compassion as an avenue to not only help children in desperate need, but to introduce them to Jesus.
John Park
John Park came from South Korea to Canada in 1998, then moved to London to study Medical Biophysics at the University of Western Ontario (2008). John attended Knox Seminary to receive an M.Div (2011). He later became an Associate Pastor at Oakridge Presbyterian Church where he served until April 2018. John is married to Grace, and they have two children, Leo and Esther. The Parks felt a new calling to serve in the East of London area in a hope of seeing God’s Kingdom revealed in the city, and founded a new ministry called Faith L.A.B.S.. He currently serves at BCM Bible Clubs, Christian Churches Network of London and in forming a new Canadian evangelical reformed denomination, Living Stones. John loves the opportunity to use his platform to share about Compassion's mission with others.
Jon Neufeld
Jon is an artist and songwriter, who currently resides in Bellevue, WA, where he is a worship pastor at Crossroads Bible Church. He has been married to his wife Jesse for 15 years, and they have 3 boys, ages 13, 10, and 5. He is also a founding member of the band “Starfield” and has spent many years touring and pouring into the church in Canada with his brother Tim. Jon is passionate about challenging disciples of Jesus to extend their worship beyond the walls of the church, and to make a difference in the world around them. One child at a time.
Jon Bauer
Jon Bauer is a Worship Leader and Recording Artist from Edmonton, AB. His heart and ministry of 25 years are to encourage the Church to live out their worship in the places where they live, learn, work, and play. One of the ways that Jon’s family lives out their worship is by blessing God’s children through the wonderful ministry of Compassion. Being grounded in his local church, Jon tours and ministers around the world throughout North America, Europe, and Asia on a regular basis. Jon has released 7 albums and his music and ministry have been recognized with a Juno Award Nomination and over 50 Nominations and Awards from the Canadian Gospel Music Awards including Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Jon has the heart of a Pastor and would love to serve with your church to see many children come to know Jesus through the powerful ministry of Compassion.
Ian Ardill
For Ian, every day starts with asking the same question: “Lord, how do I add the greatest amount of value for those who come across my path?” The answer has been to serve others as a wealth advisor and CEO of Ardill Group, in a range of volunteer ministry work opportunities, and as a Compassion Ambassador – a role in which he shares the uplifting experience of sponsoring children in Uganda and Nicaragua and invites audiences to become powerful agents of change. Holding a BA and Masters in Theology, Ian was in full-time ministry for 15 years, serving as a planting pastor of a church with the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada. While in that role, he obtained his ordination, which is still in good standing. A naturally strong speaker, Ian is a respected and inspirational communicator of the scriptures and Compassion’s mission to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.
Andy Chan
Andy Chan moved to Toronto from Hong Kong with his family when he was 15 years old. He received Jesus as his personal saviour at the age of 18. He graduated with a Master of Theological Studies degree (MTS) from Tyndale Seminary in 2018. He has served in various ministry and leadership capacities within the local church. As a tentmaker, Andy has also earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Laurentian University and works as a CPA in his own accounting practice in Ontario. Alongside this, he also serves as a freelance preacher across the Greater Toronto Area and is a gifted Cantonese speaker. Since 2013, Andy has been a loyal Compassion sponsor and he recently had the opportunity to visit the Dominican Republic; one of Compassion Canada's field countries.
Michael Krause
For 25 years, Michael Krause served as the teaching pastor at Southridge Community Church, a multisite church with three locations in Niagara, ON. Southridge is committed to actively striving to bring healing, hope, and restoration to one of the poorest regions in Ontario through its 24/7, 35-bed homeless shelter in St. Catharines, its work fighting food insecurity in Welland, its hospitality to migrant farm workers in Lincoln, and its reconciliatory friendships with local Indigenous nations. He and his wife, Christa, have been married for 20 years and are raising four inspiring girls: Arleigh (17), Kennedy (16), Trevi (15) and Brylee (13).
ALiVE Worship Ministry
Wayne and Iva Lai are passionate in building up and nurturing musicians to use their God-given gifts in music to honor God and bless others. As a husband-and-wife duo, they cofounded ALiVE Worship Ministry in 2023, a ministry that serves the local churches and worship servants through providing resources and training. For 20+ years, they have been serving together in worship ministry at the local churches, as well as in numerous music missions across North America at Chinese churches of various sizes, with Iva as worship leader and Wayne as worship musician. Iva holds a Master of Divinity from Tyndale Seminary, and a Master of Worship Studies from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies. She served as Pastor in both small and mega church contexts, where she preached in English or Cantonese. A piano teacher by profession, Wayne had been volunteering as Music Producer at the local church, where he started production of many music tracks for church-use, supporting small churches in need of musicians. As an act and expression of their worship, Wayne and Iva have been a committed child sponsor of Compassion for 10 years, and it all began with a humble response to God’s stirring in their hearts to share the love of Jesus with children in poverty.
Andrew Thompson
For more than two decades, Andrew Thompson has devoted himself to serving the local church as a worship leader. He has worked primarily with WellSpring Community Church in Welland, ON, but has also led worship for Impactus (formerly Promise Keepers Canada) and numerous other community events. Music and singing have played a pivotal role in Andrew's life and relationship with God, and he uses this passion to inspire others to draw closer to God through heartfelt worship. Andrew considers it a profound honour to witness people connecting with God right before his eyes. Andrew and Anita have been married for over 28 years and are proud parents of three adult children: Noah, Hannah, and Ella.
Jim Tam
Jim Tam is currently the Senior Pastor of Peoples Gospel Church in Markham. Previously he was involved in church planting and founding pastor of Grace Gospel Church of North York (1988 - 1997). He was the General Secretary of Showers of Blessing Evangelistic Ministry (SOBEM) for 20 years from 1998 to 2017. He has been married for 35 years to his wife Annie and they have 4 adult children and 2 grandchildren. His passion is evangelism, bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to every person. His other hobbies include riding his motorcycle and jogging.
Sam Wong
Sam Wong came to Vancouver, BC, 35 years ago from Hong Kong with his family. Before becoming a pastor, he worked in the financial industry for 12 years. Since 2007, he has been a pastor serving at Vancouver Chinese Baptist Church. His current role is the Senior Pastor of the church. Since 2018, Sam has made a few trips to Mexico to visit Compassion projects. He and his wife Florence currently sponsor two girls in Mexico. Since witnessing the impact Compassion has made on local communities in Mexico with his own eyes, Sam has been very enthusiastic and committed to promoting the ministry of Compassion within and outside his church own church community.
