Life Gardens Projects

For families living in Kenya’s Kitui County, prolonged drought leaves many facing chronic food insecurity and economic uncertainty. Small-scale vegetable production offers opportunities to improve household nutrition and improve financial stability.

Your gift will train 800 caregivers as Life Garden Champions to serve as community resource persons and peer educators for other households engaged in kitchen gardening. Over the course of 12 months, caregivers will receive valuable training, quality input, water-efficient technologies and peer support to cultivate vegetables, fruits and herbs year-round. These skills will equip families to grow nutritious food, create opportunities to increase household income through the sale of surplus produce, and teach valuable skills to members of their community.

Your investment helps create a transformative impact by enhancing food security and producing opportunities for economic sustainability, bringing hope to caregivers today and transformation to communities tomorrow.
