Recently, we received a letter from a sponsor in British Columbia who wanted to share something beautiful her seven-year-old daughter, Rayna, had done for her sponsored child. Rather than wanting presents for herself, she asked Santa to give her gift to her sponsored child. With her parents’ permission, Rayna’s letter follows:
Dear Santa,
I am sorry to bother you right now but I want coal for Christmas. I know I been a good girl this year, but I don’t want anything else. I do want my stocking filled please but I don’t want a present. If you had a plan for me could you give it to Darline in Haiti because I know she’s been a good girl for sure. No one else can buy her a present. Thank you.
Love Rayna
Rayna’s spirit of generosity is such a gift and a blessing to us all here at Compassion. I trust it will be a blessing to you as well as you celebrate Christmas with your loved ones.
